Repercussions From Sexual Sins
The sexual revolution has entered the Church!
But we can break free from the bondage of sexual addiction and these patterns of sin. Hope lies in the deliverance ministry of Jesus, and from the discipline of the fruit of the Holy Spirit producing strong hearts and sound minds.
Sexuality has impacted our nation, our church and our family. Promiscuity, nudity and sexual obscenities have become commonplace, and our consciences have become desensitized. No longer is there a widespread outcry against the avalanche of filth flaunted daily before our eyes. The repercussions from sexual sin are mounting as moral convictions falter and sexual fads balloon.
Neither the nation nor the individual can escape the consequences of disregarding God’s commandments. The Bible warns us that, “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23), and “The way of the transgressor is hard” (Prov. 13:15). Unless these kinds of works of the flesh are quickly mortified, they become demonic strongholds. Sowing to the flesh produces corruption (Gal. 6:8), and corruption (dead flesh) provides a banquet table for unclean spirits.
The inevitable consequence of defilement is the loss of fellowship with a holy God. “Pursue… holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (Heb. 12:14). Are the fleeting pleasures of sin worth the forfeiture of our fellowship with God? Learn how to break free from the bondage and repercussions from sexual sin.
It is "out of the heart" that sin proceeds. It is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but rather what comes out of his heart (Mark 7:20-21). Therefore, the wisdom of Proverbs exhorts, "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life" (Prov. 4:23).
How does one keep his heart pure? To "cleanse" ourselves of all defilment of Satan's kingdom, including breaking sexual addictions and ties to pornography. These specific sins are self-destructive and lead to heart break and broken relationships.
The Kingdom of God is built on the foundation of love. Satan's kingdom knows no love. All he can offer is the counterfeit to love, which is lust. Love serves others; it builds up, protects and encourages. Lust uses others; it defiles, it takes, and it leaves both parties empty. There is a much, much greater call on your life than lust. Heaven is calling out to you in love, and the work of Jesus on the Cross releases the fire to burn up the chains of the enemy blocking that love. Peace, love and a sound mind await you.
